Good writing is what Subjectverb is all about, and we encourage readers to submit
ideas for new articles. Generally, articles should be about 750 words long (although we're
flexible enough to accommodate longer pieces),
should be very well-written (cogent, concise, maybe even humorous), should be
original as well as creative, and should actually have a constructive, meaningful, thoughtful
purpose. We are not interested in reviews, or out-and-out criticism, or in soapbox talk.
Although for the moment we will accept unsolicited articles, it's better to make an inquiry
ahead of time. E-mail editor@subjectverb.com with
an article idea; include a sample paragraph, or something like that, that demonstrates your
writing capacity and style. Don't send along a whole writing portfolio as part of an initial
inquiry. That's just too much.
You will, of course, warrant that all submissions are well clear of the copyright and
intellectual-property briar patches -- to wit, you indemnify us for all damages, including
libel, relating to
your submission's publication. Also, you must realize that submissions become the property
of Subjectverb and are subject to editing for length and for content.
